The goal was to offer full length documentaries for download - for free. An inconceivable concept for that period of time. The rational behind the site's concept was content democratization. DocMovies worked with filmmakers to bring their stories, and to expose them to a fast growing audience across the globe by utilizing the web. Many bytes later we now understand how the internet works and what it can offer filmmakers.
