DOX:FORUM, the pitching forum connected to cph:dox – Copenhagen Documentary Film Festival is accepting submissions until September 1. The forum takes place on November 10-12.

DOX:FORUM project Vinylmania by Stefilm, Italy

DOX:FORUM is re-launching the pitching session as a financing forum in 2010 as opposed to the previous years’ focus on distribution. The forum is looking for 20 creative and visually strong film projects seeking financing and international market partners. Projects can be at any stage of development, production or postproduction. As a new addition, the Forum has 3 main focuses:

FICTIONONFICTION:
for projects crossing boundaries between documentary and fiction; meaning innovative projects from filmmakers who challenge the genre and our understanding of the documentary film project.

CINEMA:
high end theatrical feature length documentaries with international distribution potential.

LAB:
innovative low-budget projects from new & established talents seeking out new alternative production methods. Provocative or challenging, poetic or abstract. Stories told in new, exciting, non-traditional ways.

DOX:FORUM is a 3 day event, offering:

- Tailored one-on-one meetings with financiers and co-production partners

- Seminars and case studies on new financing and distribution models

- Individual consultations with professionals offering specialist advice

- Networking, dinners and late night parties.

With CPH:DOX being the biggest documentary event in Scandinavia, the DOX:FORUM has a natural emphasis on the Nordic and European scene, but strongly encourages producers and filmmakers worldwide to submit upcoming films for consideration.

The application process requires a treatment, status report, trailer, production budget and biographies on participants. There is no entry fee for submissions. Here you can find further details on submitting your project to DOX:FORUM.
