DocuWeeks helps to qualify feature and short documentaries for Academy Awardconsideration, by providing its participants with a seven-day commercial theatrical run in Los Angeles County and in the Borough of Manhattan. Per Academy requirements, shorts will screen in only one location, either in the
County of Los Angeles or in the Borough of Manhattan.
To be eligible for Academy Awards consideration, a feature documentary film must complete a seven-day commercial theatrical run (twice daily) in the County of Los Angeles and in the Borough of Manhattan.Short documentaries must complete a seven-day commercial theatrical run (once per day) in the County of Los Angeles or in the Borough of Manhattan.
