WGA Call for entries

WGAThe Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) and the Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) will be accepting submissions for the fifth annual WGA Documentary Screenplay Award from now through December 3, 2008. Nominees will be announced on January 7, 2009, and the award will be presented at the 2009 Writers Guild Awards ceremony on February 7, 2009, held simultaneously at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City.

To be eligible for award consideration, documentaries must contain an on-screen writing credit, have been exhibited theatrically in either New York or Los Angeles for one week in 2008, and be feature length (over 40 minutes); documentaries need not be written under WGA jurisdiction and writers may or may not be Guild members but do agree to join the Nonfiction Writers Caucus.
